Accredited Clinical Vascular Scientist

Vacancy Reference Number
None
Closing Date
31 Jan 2025
Salary
£38,000 - £55,000
Address
Tomorrow Cardiovascular Salford, Tameside and North Manchester Hospitals
Duration
Permanent

Tomorrow Cardiovascular Ltd is seeking to recruit qualified or partly qualified Clinical Vascular Scientists to support our Salford, Tameside and North Manchester sites. We welcome applications from CSVS accredited vascular scientists, those working towards accreditation and graduates from the Scientist Training Programme (STP). Exceptional candidates with less skills and experience will also be considered.

Tomorrow Caardiovascular Ltd is an exciting place to work with our outstanding clinical teams spread across our nine full-time vascular laboratories. The successful candidate would be joining a company of 52 vascular scientists and 6 admin support staff.

We offer a multitude of opportunities for career progression and development. This includes an extremely active research team with a heavy focus on the development of 3D ultrasound in vascular applications. You can be part of our training team delivering sessions to our own trainees as well as teaching on external study days and delivering lectures for the STP and PTP programmes at neighbouring Universities. Our wellness hub in Knutsford gives CVS the opportunity to become a Clinical Vascular Practitioner performing RFA, avulsions and other procedures in varicose vein surgery. We routinely use CEUS for assessment of EVAR endoleaks, undertake GCA examinations and we have an ongoing research study using trans-vaginal ultrasound for assessing pelvic vein insufficiency, so there are opportunities to master new scan modalities. We have a remote quality analysis service so quality assurance image analysis work can be undertaken from your home, using your vascular ultrasound skills but reducing musclo-skeletal risks and lengthening your career.
TCV Ltd has the first UKAS-accredited vascular labs in the UK, and we are CQC-registered. We offer a generous benefits package, including a cash loyalty bonus, shares in the company, conference fees, CSVS membership fees, SOR indemnity insurance, parking fees, mileage and expenses, a laptop and iPhone. We have an open approach to flexible working and staff benefit from a good work/life balance.

You will be spending the majority of your time in North Manchester hospitals so cross-site travel will be required. Full driving license and access to a car is essential. We have a rolling machine upgrade programme, with most sites using Phillips Epiq, Phillips Affiniti or Mindray Resona scanners, with a range of portable scanners for ward scans and outreach clinics.

We perform the full range of vascular ultrasound assessments at all of our sites, with training available in unfamiliar modalities if required. A person with fistula scanning experience would be advantageous. We provide weekend cover at five of our sites which is shared between all staff and can be a significant extra source of income.
